What The Church of God Stands For...

ETERNAL GOD

ETERNAL - Without beginning or end, existing through all time, everlasting; forever the same.

GOD - The Creator or Ruler of the universe. Genesis 1:1, Psalms 90:1-2, Revelation 1:8, John 1:1, Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 1:8


DIVINE CHRIST

DIVINE - Of or like God, given or inspired by God, HoIy, sacred.

CHRIST - The Messiah whose appearance was prophesied in the Old Testament. Son of God. John 3:2,5:18, 10:30 & 37-38, 14:7-10, Philippians 2:10 


ETERNAL HOLY GHOST

ETERNAL - Without beginning or end, existing through all time, everlasting, forever the same.

HOLY - Dedicated to religious use, belonging to or coming from God, consecrated, sacred, spiritually perfect or pure, untainted by evil or sin, sinless, saintly.

GHOST - The Third person of the Trinity, the Spirit of God. John 15:26, Acts 1:4-5 & 8, Acts 2:4, Acts 13:2-4


INFALLIBLE INSPIRED BIBLE

INFALLIBLE - Incapable of error, never wrong, not likely to fail, go wrong or make a mistake.

INSPIRE - To cause, guide, motivate, or communicate by divine influence, to influence or stimulate.

BIBLE - The sacred book of Christianity. John 15:26, 5:39, II Peter 1:19,21 , I Thessalonians 2:13, II Timothy 3:16


SALVATION FROM SIN

SALVATION - Spiritual rescue from sin and death, the saving of the soul through the atonement of Jesus.

SIN - The breaking of religious law or a moral principle; any offense or wrong doing. Matthew 1:2-1, Romans 6:1-2, Titus 2:11-14,

I John 5:18, I John 1:7-9, I John 3: 6-9


THE NEW BIRTH

Never existing before, for the first time, beginning again.

BIRTH - the beginning of anything, the act of bringing forth an offspring. 1 Corinthians 5:17, John 3:1-9, Ephesians 4:24, I Peter 1:23, I John 5:1


ENTIRE SANCTIFICATION

ENTIRE - Not lacking any of the parts, whole, complete.

SANCTIFICATION - To set apart as holy, consecrated to make productive of spiritual blessings. I Thessalonians 5:23, 4:3,

Acts 19:1-2, Acts 2:1-8 (Tongues), Galatians 5:22-23, Hebrews 10:14              


A HOLY LIFE

HOLY - (SEE DEFINITIONS IN FIRST COLUMN)

LIFE - A living being, one's manner of living, the time a person or thing is alive, the existence of the soul. Romans 12:1, I Peter 1:15-16,

Hebrews 12:14, II Peter 3:11 God commands that we live holy. He wouldn't command it if it could not be done.

 (WORLDLY ADORNMENT, ETC.) I Timothy 2:9-10, Isaiah 3:16-18, I John 2:15, II Timothy 2:22, 1 Peter 3:3-4,

Romans 12:2 (NOTE: I CORINTHIANS 6:20 Glorify God in your body. So if it brings more glory to God, wear it and do it!)

Ephesians 2:2, Galatians 1a, John 17:14-16


UNITY OF GOD'S PEOPLE

UNITY - The state of being one, a group or body that is one in spirit aims and interest. Psalm 133:1, John 17:20-21, I Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:3 


THE ORDINANCES

ORDINANCES - A custom or practice established by authority, an established religious rite.  

BAPTISM   Matthew 28:19 (Jesus established the way the baptism should be done.) Matthew 3:5-6 and 13-16, Mark 16:15-16,

Acts 2:38, John 3:23, Must go down in the water (Acts 8:38-39) which symbolizes being buried with Christ. Colossians 2:12

FEET WASHING  John 13:15, John 13: 2-17, I Timothy 5:10

LORD'S SUPPER Matthew 26:26, I Corinthians 11:23-34, Mark 14:1-26, Luke 22:19


DIVINE HEALING

HEAL - To make well or healthy again, restore to health, to cure or get rid of disease.

DIVINE - SEE DEFINITION ABOVE James 5:14-15, Psalms 103:2-3, Hebrews 13:8 (Jesus is still the same today, so

He healed  in the Bible days and He still heals today) Matthew 4:23, III John 2, Luke 4:18-21, Matthew 8:16-17, 11:4-5, Mark 16:15-18


ETERNAL LIFE
